Time feels a little bit like it’s going at warp speed, but also crawling. Does anyone else feel this way? Or does that even make sense?
In so many ways I cannot believe we are halfway through October and then I’ll find myself staring at the clock at 10:15AM on a Tuesday and wonder how the hell it’s only Tuesday.
In any case, this week’s roundup doesn’t disappoint, because I’m chatting two books that knock it out of the park, a really big professional accomplishment, two internet stories that are worth sharing and more. Let’s roll right into this week’s edition of 5 Things I Love Friday…
5 Things I Love Friday
Children’s Book – My dear friend Abby wrote a freaking book! How awesome is that?! She teamed up with her mom, who is a doctor, to create a colorfully illustrated book that talks about skin health in a way that is easy to understand for children. I’m so dang proud of her and if you have a kid in your life, this is a beautiful book to add to your collection.
CNN Travel – I haven’t shied away from sharing about what life has been like in Hawaii this year. Cliff notes: Probably some of the tightest restrictions in the country, if not the world. So imagine how honored I was when CNN Travel tapped me to write about what visitors can expect when trans-Pacific travel opened up this week. Imposter syndrome is REAL for me as a writer, so having the opportunity to write for such a renowned publication is not something I take lightly and I’m humbled by every single person who has read, shared, or commented on my work.
HUMANS – My friend Casey knows my love for Humans of New York, so imagine how excited I was when a little happy mail showed up on my porch. She had pre-ordered the latest book, ‘HUMANS’ for me as a surprise and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve already started enjoying it and dare I say – it’s my favorite one yet! All the sweeter knowing it came from a dear friend.
If you’re a social creator, I thought How Influencers Should Determine Rates was a really interesting read. It might even be insightful if you’re just interested in how the world of online creators works…
And “What are we so afraid of?” from Washington Post was a really eye-opening article and probably the one I shared the most this week.
Finally, every single thing over at Anthropologie is 25% off this weekend! I have had my eye on these pajamas (top + bottom) for awhile, but could never justify the price. I may just snag them and put “Santa” on the tag for a couple months down the road…LOL!
TGIF, everyone! Have a safe and happy weekend!
