Sharing my Trader Joe’s Fall Food haul courtesy of some super thoughtful mainland friends!
If you want to go ahead and make someone’s day, send a friend in Hawaii a box of food from Trader Joe’s. I’m telling you, Hawaii is great, but there are some instances where it is sorely lacking and Trader Joe’s is one of them.
One of my many favorite things about traveling back to PA to see my parents is making a pitstop at Trader Joe’s and exploring all their festive seasonal foods, then trying to play Jenga fitting them into my suitcase 😉
Since 2020 prevented this year’s fall trip, two amazingly thoughtful friends decided to ship me some Trader Joe’s fall food favorites, as well as pantry staples. Admittedly, I cried when I got their over-the-top boxes, both sent independently from one another, and immediately tore into everything.
Trader Joe’s Fall Food Haul
In any case, today I’m sharing what they sent and what I’ve loved so far and I’ll start with something that isn’t edible at all, but it has made me whole house smell delicious! The seasonal candle selection at Trader’s Joe’s is so, so good. Whenever I’m able to go in person, I try to pick up one or two…
Alright..now on to the Trader Joe’s food!
Halloween Joe Joe’s Cookies – Okay these are delicious, but they do not taste like Halloween Oreo’s. They were the first thing I tore into and I liked that the cookie itself was softer on my teeth, LOL! I store them in the refrigerator now and I think that makes them taste better, but that could just be me.
Pumpkin Biscotti – These are absolutely delicious dunked into my coffee in the morning. The nutrition value is not enough to hold me over (breakfast with protein is still required), but it’s such a nice morning treat and not too pumpkin spice-y.
Fall Harvest Salsa _ Pumpkin Tortilla Chips – You guys, this combo is delicious. I bought the salsa for myself last year when I was able to hit up a TJ’s in person (dream life) and I stocked up. It’s really good with the Pumpkin Tortilla chips (pictured in the black bag), which were new-to-me this year. It’s a great fall flavor that isn’t “too much”, if that makes sense. There is definitely no over-the-top sugary aftertaste, which I often get in pumpkin-flavored anything, which is great since this is a savory treat.
Spicy Pumpkin Curry – I am MOST excited to try this! I have never had it, but I’m making it this week with sweet potatoes and lentils. I think it’s going to be really hearty and I hope it has a good kick.
I haven’t tried the Butternut Squash Soup or the Pumpkin Spice Batons yet. I’m sort of trying to ration all my treats through the fall season! 😉
Fall at Trader Joe’s
Caramel Apple Flavored Granola – We love this in yogurt with cut-up apples and any granola doesn’t last long in this house thanks to our affinity for acai bowls. The Trader Joe’s peanut butter granola is a super-favorite in our house.
Pumpkin O’s – These taste almost exactly like the Pumpkin Spice Cheerio’s, which delighted me, because I had eaten my whole box and our Target ran out. Admittedly, I ate these dry, so I can’t vouch for them in any type of milk, but as a fall snack they are 10/10.
Pumpkin Bisque – This was another item I tried last year and it’s freaking delicious. I haven’t cracked into this year’s jar, but I plan to add in some butternut squash ravioli with sautéed onions. Yum, yum, yum…
I haven’t tried any of the pumpkin bread or pancake mixes yet at my own house, but I’ve enjoyed them during previous seasons. Let’s see if I can get mine to last until Thanksgiving…
Two new-to-me items this year were Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread (holy moly) and Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookie mix.
The spread didn’t stand a chance. When I got this package, I happened to have a package of fresh croissants on the counter and I tore into that spread like a bear into a trash can. It’s just as good and sugary as you might imagine and definitely worth picking up.
I have plans to try the cookie mix this weekend and I can’t wait!
Okay maybe not specifically fall, but definitely worth mentioning…
Plantain Chips – These are SO GOOD in taco bowls. I could eat them all day long as a snack, too.
Honey Wheat Pretzel Sticks – I actually sampled these at one of my in-person Trader Joe’s trips and I’ve been hooked ever since. They’re especially good dipped in mustard.
Chili Onion Garlic Crunch – This stuff is crazy good and I put it in just about everything — on top of baked potatoes, sauté green beans in it, toss pasta in it, and the list goes on. It’s delightfully spicy, so beware…
Alright, now that I’ve rambled on about my love of food (this is my excitement right now!), what Trader Joe’s items are your must-haves?
