What. A. Week. I think I’ve been saying that since Monday, LOL! In any case, I don’t have anything to share about the election that hasn’t already been talked about ad nauseam, so let’s just dive in to this week’s edition of 5 Things I Love Friday, shall we?*
5 Things I Love Friday
I was so hungry on Election Night that when Dane and I finally sat down to eat, I was so enthusiastic with my fork going into my mouth…I chipped my front tooth! Very thankfully, I was able to get into a dentist Thursday afternoon to get it fixed, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I was in complete panic mode about the whole thing.
Dane and I were a Boy Scout and Girl Scout for Halloween, even though this year’s Halloween plans just included handing out candy from the driveway, not allowing trick-or-treaters to come to the door, and keeping our distance as best as possible, which meant scattering candy on the sidewalk since bowls were a no-go. The base we live on had really strict rules (and lots of police patrolling!), but still allowed for some fun, which I think the kids really enjoyed. Plus, it gave us the opportunity to bust out our original scouting uniforms. Yes, we are those people 😉
I got to interview Jeni Britton Bauer from Jeni’s Ice Cream (fan girl moment!) for a piece on AllRecipes about the difference between ice cream and frozen dessert. The truth might shock you!
Rodrigues Adoption – Savannah and Alex began their marriage with the immediate desire to grow and expand their family. The military life delays many things, and seeking help in getting pregnant became one of those things. They sought help through a local fertility clinic on Oahu and completed multiple rounds of IUI and IVF to hopefully achieve their dream.
They were finally blessed with their son, Elijah, only to lose him 2 short months later. Savannah and Alex are our old neighbors and are now on the road to adopting and hoping to raise funds to ease the financial burden, which is estimated around $40,000. We are so thrilled for them + if you feel compelled to donate or share their story, I know they would be over-the-moon in appreciation.
Holiday Nutpods are here….and the world rejoiced! If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know that Nutpods are my very favorite coffee add-in, so I look forward to the yummy seasonal flavor offerings. This year it’s Peppermint Mocha, Holiday Nog, and Pumpkin Spice!
