TGIF! This week flew and dragged all at once. Those mid-week holidays seem to throw me for a loop every time! Today I’m diving into affordable Christmas decor I recently found (and love!), my #fangirl moment with a popular food blogger, the cheesy Christmas movie that made me smile, and more. Let’s dive in…

 

5 Things I Love Friday

For the first time in a really long while last Saturday, I felt hopeful and I was overcome with emotion pretty much the whole day. We celebrated with champagne and when I watched Kamala take the stage, in a historic moment in our nation’s history, I had tears in my eyes. Put your shoes on ladies, there is glass everywhere! That joy bubbled over into Sunday and Monday when I saw leaders from around the world congratulating us – brighter days are ahead.

Was anyone else completely gutted to find out that Alex Trebek had passed away? Jeopardy was a staple in my home growing up and to this day – my parents still watch it every single night! “Did you know what the Final Jeopardy question was tonight?” is a question I hear routinely, so to say the show will not be the same is probably the understatement of the year. What a tremendous loss and my heart goes out to Alex’s family and friends – I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through- but I hope they know the country is mourning beside them. 

Netflix just dropped some new movies and while it was completely cheesy (and not accurate from a military perspective), we loved Operation Christmas Drop! If you need a cute movie to get you in the spirit, I recommend it, especially since it’s a real-deal thing!

I got to interview the one and only Gaby Dalkin from What’s Gaby Cooking for an article featured on AllRecipes. We chatted about her favorite Thanksgiving hacks + how to prep for a holiday that might look a little different this year. Safe to say I was totally in #fangirl mode! 

I was so excited to see Christmas decor at Target while browsing the internet one night last week. I was pulling some pretty late nights (as I’m sure many others were, too!), and treated myself to quite a few new items to add to our Christmas box. Some of my favorites include the pom pillow, zebra pillow, + Merry Everything pillow. And how could I forget this adorable pom pom wreath?! It’s safe to say my love of color transcends seasons 😉
