TGIF, right? The week after a holiday can be SUCH a slog, but we did it! How can it already be Christmas season? And then 2021 – isn’t this what we’ve all been waiting for? Before I get ahead of myself, I’m dishing all sorts of puppy love, a new kitchen must-have, Hawaii big waves, a newfound love of poetry + more!
5 Things I Love Friday
Last weekend, Dane and Bill slept in on Sunday, which meant Judy and I had a bit of girl time. After I finished my coffee we went on an adventure and I got some one on one time with my favorite girl. Sometimes I wonder if she misses being an only dog, but I love the times where I can share special time with just her again.
Have you heard of Swedish dishcloths before? My mom sent me a couple in a recent care package and I was blown away by how cool they are! They’re quick-drying, eco-friendly dish towels that make a great substitute for paper towels. The cool factor is that they feel like hard “paper” when they’re dry. In any case, it’s safe to say I’m hooked. My mom sent me on one from this collection and one from SweetGum.
Our neighbors got a chocolate Labrador puppy – SQUEAL! His name is Duke and he’s the cutest and sweetest little angel. Definitely makes me want a third dog, but definitely not while we still live in our tiny townhouse. HA!
The big waves on the North Shore have finally arrived for this year’s winter season and I’m so dang happy! On Wednesday, the swells in Waimea Bay were estimated to be around 33 feet. I had to work, but you can see my big wave photos from previous years! I’m heading up this weekend with my tripod to hopefully capture some more 🙂
I got to interview the amazingly talented Kate Baer about her new book “What Kind of Woman”, which debuted in November. First of all, Kate is the freaking best, but second, her genuine approach to everything she does (including writing poems about things like cracked nipples and marital strife) is a breath of fresh air.
