Dreaming after a safari in Africa? Here is my photo diary of the majestic lions (and lionesses) of Kenya!
Seeing lions in Kenya was at the very top of my “must see” list the first time we visited Africa for our Kenyan safari. There is something truly majestic about seeing these beautiful animals in wild. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite photos of lions from our safaris.
Lions In Kenya
The first pride we saw was entirely lionesses having a lazy snooze. They barely moved when our vehicle approached them (from a safe distance).
No matter how many times we saw lions and lionesses, it never stopped feeling amazing. These powerful animals are just so beautiful.
I shot all of these photos on my Nikon DSLR Camera using a Sigma Zoom Lens. If you’re interested in specifics, be sure to check out all my photography gear. Of course, all photos were then edited using Lightroom.
One of the top questions I got upon my arrival home was if I felt scared or nervous being in the company of these animals and the answer is – absolutely no. Honestly, I felt the exact opposite! Seeing them brought me so much joy and I could have sat and been in their company for hours.
Being on safari brings me an overall sense of calm and I can’t quite put my finger on why. Maybe it’s being out in nature, or just in the presence of a place that feels so magical and full of life. Either way, there isn’t anything scary about the lions or lionesses..I promise!
