Looking for a fresh margarita recipe? This Coconut Lime Margarita is simple and delicious!
Coconut Lime Margarita
I love a margarita. Forever and ever amen. And while a traditional refreshing margarita is great, I truly enjoy flavored margaritas, too.
For New Year’s Eve, Dane had mentioned making a margarita recipe and I was all in, because…2021 was going to be something to celebrate…!
We decided to mix two of our favorites – margaritas and coconut. Now, if you’ve been here awhile you might be fond of my Skinny Coconut Margarita. Don’t worry, we still love that one, too. But you should know – nothing about this coconut, lime, creamy concoction I’m about to share deserves “skinny” in the title. Moving on!
Coconut Cream Margarita
I wanted something that would be equally good blended or on the rocks. To note, we served them on the rocks this time, but next time I’m breaking out the Vitamix.
The result is a creamy, flavorful and strong coconut lime margarita that instantly transports you to a beach.
Fresh Margarita Recipe
To make one coconut lime margarita, you will need:
2 oz cream of coconut (I made my own – recipe linked!)
1 oz fresh lime juice
2 oz tequila
1 oz Cointreau
lime zest and wedges to garnish
1. In a shaker with ice combine ingredients.
2. Shake well and pour over into a tumbler with ice.
3. Garnish with lime zest and wedge.
One thing that is really important in this recipe is the presence of fresh lime juice. Lime juice from the store isn’t going to taste as refreshing or give you the *zing* of a refreshing margarita. Trust me – I tried it 😉
