TGIF, right? This week was a doozy in more ways than one and frankly, all I can think about is how cold it is in so many parts of the country. If you have been trying to figure out how to help, I donated earlier this week to Austin Pets Alive and Austin Mutual Aid, but there are countless organizations and people that need help. Stay warm and safe!
5 Things I Love Friday
Have you watched Framing Britney Spears yet? Dane and I settled in to watch it and I feel like my entire mind was blown. I was (very obviously) a child of the 90s and Britney Spears was a cornerstone of my youth. So much went on in her life that I had no idea about (something we could all easily say!!) and the documentary broke my heart. I can truthfully say I don’t know enough about the situation to make a judgement call one way or the other, but I found the short film to be fascinating. Vulture did a great job summing it up if you don’t have access to Hulu.
I discovered Thee Bouffants from someone I follow on Instagram and I’ve been trying to decide which print to buy ever since. There is something that is just so relatable!
When I find something good it’s my duty to tell you, right? I actually can’t take credit for this one at all, my friend Casey gave me the heads up, because she knows I love a good comfortable, lightweight button-up. Hello Hawaii! The fit is great (I’m wearing a small), and it’s long making it great for a relaxed look or tuck! The only question left is…what color do I get next?
I mentioned last week that we were planning a quiet Valentine’s Day date in this year. Dane worked all day, so we picked up a piece of salmon from Whole Foods to cook at home together. It turns out, it was one of the best pieces of salmon we have eaten in a long time! We both kept commenting how good the flavor was! If you like salmon, pick up a piece of their garlic teriyaki wild-caught salmon from the seafood counter. Worth every penny!
In other food related news, we tried the viral feta pasta dish + it was everything the internet hyped it up to be. One roasting dish, a container of cherry tomatoes, a block of feta, several garlic cloves and 25 minutes in the oven. So quick, so easy. Sometimes the internet is truly a gift!
