Dreaming of the Hawaiian Islands? Here are some Hawaii pictures of the south shore of Oahu to enjoy!
Nothing about aerial beach photography will ever get told to me. I love it! No matter how many Hawaii beach photos I look at, I always want more. I guess you could say that is where the inspiration for the following Hawaii pictures comes from – aerial beach and wave photos!
One of my very favorite beaches on Oahu is Sandy Beach Park and it’s not uncommon for Dane and I to head down there at least once per weekend.
Sandy’s is the site of one of the best body boarding beaches on Oahu and it’s not uncommon to see 50 or more people in the water at a time. This is thanks to the powerful shore break that is caused by a change in the ocean bottom. In fact, it’s not recommended to even get in the water unless you have surfed this break your entire life and have the proper equipment.

Just down from the shore break is a cove of rocks that eventually forms Honeymoon Beach (often referred to as Cockroach Cove locally) and forms Halona Blowhole. While a bit precarious on foot, the area is absolutely beautiful from above!
While many of the following photos probably look the same at first glance, they’re all very different. Looking at the wave patterns and the motion of the water is so therapeutic to me that I found this particular set of photos hard to cull – I love them all!
As you scroll, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Consider a little tropical escape from me to you 😉
