Considering a Peloton Bike+? I’m sharing my Peloton bike review after one month of use!
It’s been a little over a month since our Peloton Bike+ was delivered and I’ve posted before about what I wish I would have known before it arrived. Today, I’m sharing my honest Peloton bike review for anyone who might be considering a purchase for themselves!
I will start by saying that I really did not understand the hype of Peloton before we got our bike. It was a stationery bike, OK great. But what made people rave about it?
Peloton Bike Review
The day our bike was delivered, I did two rides. I was so freaking excited! I talked a little bit about this in my first Peloton post, but it’s SO important to make sure your cleats are properly positioned. I learned this the hard way when I began experiencing knee pain. Ever since I fixed my cleats and really focused on my form, the pain has dissolved.
But that brings me to my very first review point – it’s so important to focus on your cleats, your bike settings, and your form while cycling. All of these are crucial in performance and remaining pain free and Peloton offers great videos on their site!
Peloton Bike+ Review
We purchased the Bike+ and some things I really love about it include:
Automatic resistance feature
The auto-follow digital resistance means that while cycling, the resistance changes when the instructor calls it out, no need to touch the knob at all! Don’t worry, you can turn this feature off, or pull back when it’s too much. Having a hands-free option seems a little silly, but when you are trying to push through, not having to turn the knob is helpful.
Swivel screen
When we learned that the Bike+’s top feature was a swivel screen we were a little bit like – okay, what’s the big deal? For us, the screen was for cycling and why would we care if it swiveled out to the side? Now that we have the Peloton app and fully utilize the classes, I get it. I LOVE being able to turn my screen and go from cycling to stretching, and beyond and be able to see the instructor. We have a small space beside our bike, so even if we aren’t cycling, we can use the large Peloton screen for other types of workouts.
Peloton App Review
Personally, I take advantage of the full range of Peloton app workouts and this is something I never expected. I was like – why would I do more than spin? I have free workouts on Youtube I can do. That said, I’m eating my words.
Some of my favorite workouts aren’t even cycling at all! The arms and barre rank pretty high and sleep meditation is amazing. Dane also does a yoga class every morning and the stretching routines are critical. Plus, they feel so good.
It has been so beneficial to me to have workouts at my fingertips that are specific lengths where I know if I only have a certain amount of time, I’m still going to work hard and sweat.
Plus, I feel good. I cannot put enough emphasis on what the Peloton bike/app have done for my mental health. All of the instructors are so good at making their participants feel seen, worthy, and accomplished. There is a lot to be said for being motivated by someone you cannot see in-person, but I am always left feeling that way.
Is A Peloton Bike Worth It?
I never anticipated I would be that person raving about their Peloton. Frankly, I sort of side eyed people who did so if you are feeling that same way about me right now, I get it.
For us, it has been worth it. Dane and I do at least one class per day each. If you are considering one yourself, you can get $100 towards bike accessories using my referral code which I’m happy to email to you directly if you want it. In full disclosure, when you use my code I get a gift card to buy gear and OKAY OKAY, YOU CAUGHT ME….I just really want a Pelo-tank top and Dane wants a t-shirt.
