Why I Love My Bogg Bag

Life, Lifestyle · June 14, 2021 · Leave a Comment

What are these Bogg Bags everyone keeps talking about? I’ve had mine for years + today I’m sharing my full Bogg Bag review!

To be completely honest, this post is extremely overdue. I’ve had my Bogg Bag for about four years now and it’s hands down the best beach bags I’ve ever owned. I have lost count of the amount of times I’ve recommended it to various friends and I’ve been stopped at the beach a handful of times too. Most of the time people say – Is that a Crocs beach bag? LOL! But then they immediately want the details, because every part of the bag, from the material to the design, just makes sense.

In any case, if you’ve been considering on of these popular waterproof bags for the beach, pool, or just to carry around a ton of stuff, I’m sharing my full Bogg Bag review, including my answer to the perennial question: Are Bogg Bags worth it?

Bogg Bag Review

First things first – what the heck is it? A Bogg Bag is a large tote that is made from EVA (it DOES feel like a Croc). It comes in tons of beautiful colors and sizes. I have the Extra-Large in hot pink.

What Is A Bogg Bag Used For?

What Is A Bogg Bag?

The company itself was started by a wife and mom that needed a solution for her own beach woes – something big and sturdy enough. Honestly, the Bogg Bags story is pretty cute and inspiring to see how someone was able to craft something so amazing out of their own need.

What makes the Bogg Bag unique?

“It has a patented design, durability, and it’s washable! Unlike other totes, the Bogg Bag won’t tip over. The bottom won’t leak. And at the end of the day, simply hose off your Bogg Bag put it away for your next adventure.”

What Are Bogg Bags Used For?

The Extra Large bag was the only size I was interested in, because I wanted to be able to carry all my stuff in one single bag. I can easily fit two towels, snacks, two Hydro Flasks, sunscreen, books, cell phones, car keys, AND have room to spare. I can also manage to fit in a dog bowl and ocean dog toys if the dogs are with us.

I’ve actually used my bag to carry eight bottles of alcohol for a cocktail making event and it worked out great, plus with the sturdy bottom, I wasn’t afraid of the glass bottles smacking together.

And OMG…a dog in a Bogg!

Are Bogg Bags Worth It?

Lots of people have asked me if I think a Bogg Bag is worth the price and I’ll scream it for years to come – YES. YES YES YES. I think what I like the best is that I can hose the bag off after a day at the beach, on a boat, by the pool, or even if I use it to cart groceries, and it doesn’t tip over when I jam it full of stuff. The sides don’t collapse and the bottom is shaped like a square.

One thing I worried about was a heavy bag digging into my shoulder if I was lugging it along at the beach or from the store to the car. I’m happy to report that the strap doesn’t bother me. I was also concerned about the material warping in the hot Hawaii sun, especially if I left it in my car. Four years later and many, many hot days later, it still looks just as good as the day I got it.

I also wondered…would the thin straps ever snap if I accidentally overloaded the bag with too much stuff? The answer again is…no. My bag straps don’t even show sigs of weakness in the material that would indicate they’re worn.

Why are Bogg Bags So Popular?

Sold on getting one? You can buy them online from Amazon or their website (there is a wait list almost all of the time – it’s worth it!) and various boutiques across the country. I will say – it’s an investment. The cost is justified to me, because I use it year round, it has lasted 4 years (and counting), and is big enough to fit everything I need while also being completely waterproof. Not only do I recommend the bag, I think they make great gifts!
