Oh HAYYYYY August. (insert something here about how I cannot wrap my brain around it being August already!!!) I’m so excited to be linking up with Anne for her monthly Currently series. If you have absolutely no clue what I’m talking about, pop over to her site and take a peek around — you WILL NOT be disappointed I love, love, love this series and today I’m joining her and some of the fabulous faces who frequent her internet space for this month’s Currently, which covers what I’m currently admiring, anticipating, enjoying, spending, and saving.
All the freaking Olympians. Seriously, there is nothing more admirable or inspirational than someone working hard toward a goal (sports and otherwise) and I’m pretty sure that the athletes at the Tokyo Games are the epitome of that. It’s been wonderful (and exhausting) covering all the stories coming out of Japan, but I’m left feeling in awe. Truly amazing individuals!
Cooler weather. Last week our air conditioning went out and let me just tell you, when the temperatures are creeping over 80 in my house, I am not a nice person. During our evening dog walks, the breezes have been picking up, and it has me dreaming about big waves, jeans, and sitting outside at night.
Friday night sunsets with Dane. We’ve both been going 100mph (there is no glory in hustle), and taking the time to unwind without computers or television last weekend was just what the doctor ordered. We packed up our favorite picnic basket from Kenya, packed it full of poké for Dane, shrimp for me, and an assortment of fresh vegetables, plus a cold bottle of rosé. We used to go on sunset picnics every week, and I definitely want to bring them back!
Too much time online shopping, but I’m going to go ahead and let it slide until the Olympics are over. I’m on my computer 12+ hours each day, so when I need a little mental break from writing, I am clicking over to Anthropologie and Lululemon. My favorite Align bras have some really good patterns right now and I’ve been living in the All Yours Tank and All Yours Tees.
I am doing the opposite of saving. Ever since my parents visited, I’ve been seriously purging closets, and drawers. It started while my mom was here and was helping me organize and it’s been a total domino effect. I’ve gotten rid of so much stuff and it feels like a breath of fresh air!
What are you currently admiring, anticipating, enjoying, spending, or saving?
