It’s been a minute since I checked in for my favorite post of the week. We enjoyed an amazing week and a half on the East coast for Thanksgiving visiting with friends and family. It’s safe to say we are very happy to be back in Hawaii to thaw out a little bit. Whew! Haven’t seen those temperatures in a very long time! Without further ado, let’s dive in to my top picks of the week.
5 Things I Love Friday
During our trip to the East coast, we visited our friends in Charlotte. They had these amazing faux fur throws and Dane and I couldn’t get over how cozy they were for watching TV on the couch. On Black Friday, I picked one up in light grey and I’m looking forward to having it as the temperatures get cooler this winter. As a note, I got it 30% off, but I would pay full price, because the quality is top notch and the “fur” doesn’t feel fake or look matted.
One of the best parts of being back in Hawaii is feeling moisture in my sinuses again. Holy moly! I had forgotten how insanely dry it gets in the winter months in cold weather. I lost count of how many bloody noses I got. What saved my lips is this moisturizer I carried with me every in my vest pocket or jean pocket. I got it as a gift from the Bombay Sapphire team after going with them to London a couple years ago. After using almost the entire tube, I can tell you it’s worth every dollar!
Another product that saved my face was this day and night skin moisturizer. It came on good recommendation from my friend Max who said it not only worked, but made her skin glow. It’s around $50, so I was skeptical, mostly of my skin breaking out. But I’m here to tell you it’s gold in cream form! My skin survived airplanes, masks, and cold weather with no issues (dry or flaking skin) and no zits.
My parents have a Peloton Tread and I was so excited to test it out during our stay. It’s a safe bet that I love it. I’ve fallen off the running kick since my days of training for marathons and getting our Peloton Bike, but it felt so good to get back in the groove.
There is seriously nothing as good as coming home to your dogs. I know not everyone is a “dog person” but this was the longest I had been away from my babies since the ‘before times’ and I was missing them like crazy. We are so thankful to have amazing people in our lives who watch them while we gone and treat them like their own. Otherwise, I couldn’t do it!
