Considering buying a Rumpl blanket for yourself or as a gift? Here is my honest Rumpl blanket review to help you make a decision!
I always try to gift Dane a gift for Christmas that will be both practical and something he is excited about. This year, that gift was a Rumpl blanket. Their marketing is great, but I had also talked to a friend of mine who said she and her husband love theirs, and use them frequently. I was sold – ADD TO CART! Today I’m sharing our full Rumpl blanket review if you’re considering purchasing on for yourself or as a gift.
My Honest Rumpl Blanket Review
I will be honest and say that Dane is not the only member of our family who has gotten some good usage out of the Rumpl puffy blanket since it came into our house…but more on that later!
What is a Rumpl Blanket?
First things first – maybe you are like..what the heck is a Rumpl blanket? And is she spelling it wrong? A Rumpl is an adventure blanket made from recycled water bottles. It claims to be extremely durable and warm.
Rumpl Sizes
The brand offers four different types of blankets, but I ultimately chose the Original Puffy Blanket in Ocean Fade. I loved that every purchase of Ocean Fade gives back to Save The Waves Coalition. I chose the 1-person option, but they also make a larger, 2-person option. Obviously my review is the for the Original Puffy Blanket since that is what I ordered 🙂
The cost for the 1-person blanket is $99 and the cost for the 2-person starts at $179.
Rumpl Puffy Blanket Review
I have to say, we both love the Rumpl and did as soon as we pulled it from the bag. Here’s why:
It’s machine washable. We have so many blankets that are dry clean only and are warm, but we hesitate to use them because the only way to get them clean is a hefty dry cleaning bill. Not Rumpl! Just toss it in the washing machine on cold water and let it air dry. It’s good as new! This definitely makes me feel better about taking it out places, too, because I know cleaning won’t be a hassle.
It’s really soft. I’ll admit, I did sort of wonder how soft recycled water bottles and ripstop fabric could be, but I was in it for the durability factor and it holding up against two dogs. To my surprise, it’s extremely soft. It’s smooth and cozy, not like a stiff jacket (which is what I sort of imagined), and almost feels silky.
It’s warm. We used the blanket in our living room the first couple days, but then our Rumpl got the ultimate test when we lost power and the temperatures dipped down into the teens. That blanket saved us! It was in that moment I had sort of sprung for the 2-person, but it was really cozy and surprisingly warm for how not-bulky it feels.
Dog hair doesn’t stick to it. This is my number one complaint about having two large furry dogs — their hair gets everywhere! One shale of the blanket and there is none left on your Rumpl. This is great news since ours seem to have taken over the one we have 😉
I think it will work great at the beach. Since we know we are heading back to Hawaii at some point, I plan on using this as a beach blanket since the sand won’t stick.
It’s compact. I can see why this is considered an adventure blanket. The entire thing folds up into a small sized bag for taking it pretty much anywhere you’d want to go.
If you haven’t guessed by now, we are huge Rumpl fans and definitely plan on adding to our collection. It’s worth noting the brand is also a certified B-Corp, which means it balances purpose with profit and helps give back. Gotta love that!
