Considering attending a Charlotte FC soccer game? Here’s what you need to know about attending an MLS game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
When we were visiting friends in Charlotte, we had a chance to attend the Charlotte FC game against their rival, Atlanta. It was my first MLS soccer game and my first time seeing a game at Bank of America Stadium. It’s safe to say the game was amazing and today I’m sharing why I would highly recommend a Charlotte FC soccer game if you are visiting in season!
Charlotte FC Soccer
Our best friends live in Charlotte and when we were visiting they had asked if we might like to go to the game with them. I had never been to an MLS game and Dane is a huge soccer fan so we were like..OF COURSE! I really didn’t know what to expect, honestly.
I’ve been to professional football, basketball, hockey, and baseball games, but never soccer games so I was very excited. It turns out soccer games might be my new favorite!

Before the game, we went to Rhino Market for mimosas. We had been there before and they also have a great selection of sandwiches and snacks. Downtown Charlotte is full of energy on game day (or so it seemed while we were there!) and the weather was so beautiful. It was great to see so many people out enjoying the atmosphere of game day.

Once we got into the stadium, it was crowded, but not overwhelming. The lines were pretty long for beverages so we decided to head to our seats to watch the opening. The stadium energy was ELECTRIC and seeing everyone excited made me even more excited, if that makes sense?
Our seats were absolutely insane…right behind the goal! Our friends have season tickets they share with some of their local friends, so it was also pretty cool being in an entire row with people you know and being able to chat.
The game went by really quickly, which also felt nice, because you weren’t getting bored at any point. Charlotte won, which of course made the day better, but I think the thing I liked most was being in a fun sports environment for the first time in many years.
Even though we were with adults, there were so many families present and seeing them all have fun together was sweet. Plus, soccer is a really engaging sport to watch if you’ve never seen it before in person!
Is it worth seeing a Charlotte FC game? Yes absolutely. Check out the full football club schedule!
