TGIF! Whew, what a week. How is it that the shortest weeks always feel the longest? I’m counting down the minutes to the weekend today, that’s for sure. We’ve got a friend’s wedding on tap this weekend. But first things first – how sandwiches led to romance, a night time treat I love, two recommendations I consider musts…and more!
5 Things I Love Friday
Everyone seems to be fully on the fall train, and listen, I am ready for it, too. But here’s the deal, it’s still 90 degrees here most days and I can’t even think about a fall flavor or jeans without sweating, so maybe the pumpkin spice can take a seat for a bit longer?
I am here to tell you that if you ever need a salty and sweet treat at night (I do), dipping Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups in crunchy peanut butter is….truly a divine experience. This was a really long week for reasons I don’t care to rehash here and WOW – 10/10 recommend.
I think I say this every year, but “The Only Plane In The Sky” should be required reading. It’s such a powerful book. I was a little too young to understand a lot of what happened that day, and this book does a very good job of going into detail.
We finally got a chance to watch “Send Me” on Amazon Prime this week. Like the book mentioned above, I feel strongly that every American should watch it. The documentary-style movie walks viewers through the chaos of the Afghanistan withdrawal and the realities of what occurred.
Before moving back to Hawaii we have made the decision to invest in a Berkey water filter system. What can anyone tell me about them? I’m oddly excited.
And finally, not necessarily something I love, but something that really got my attention this week – Peloton’s latest collab with Kim Kardashian. Admittedly, I’m disappointed in the choice from a fitness brand who has always encouraged users to show up as they are. Their Instagram post announcing the news was one of their most engaged ever – and perhaps not in a way they anticipated. What are your thoughts?
