5 Things I Love Friday

TGIF! This week went by in a flash and I credit being off on Monday to recover from our race for that. I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend ahead and I hope you all are, too 🙂 The weather here in D.C. has been so perfect lately and I’m soaking in the true fall season that I’ve been looking forward to our entire year here. Happy weekend, everyone!

Are you registered to vote yet? I thought I was fully squared away and last week I got a notification from my home county that I “still had time”. I was like…still have time for what? As it turns out my military waiver had not fully processed when we moved to DC for the year and I was still not properly registered for an absentee ballot…yikes! This is your reminder to double check before the midterms next month that you are properly registered.

Is it me or does Amazon Prime Day happen many times per year now? Less day and more days. Regardless, I lost track of all time this week and did zero shopping. What good deals did you find?

Speaking of shopping, I was talking to my friend Casey who shared she has already made a dent in her Christmas shopping. I immediately had this sense of “OMG I HAVE NOT EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT CHRISTMAS YET!” Which…some years I’m really on my game and other years (like this one) I am trying to juggle 86 balls at once. So tell me – where do you stand on holiday shopping?

Last week Judy gave us a little bit of a scare. Every morning she likes to wake me up by jumping on me and snuggling her head into the crook of my neck and I put my arms around her. Well, I felt a large lump on the side of her that wasn’t there previously and I felt my stomach drop into my butt. How was this possible? I got her into the vet immediately and we were all super relieved to learn it’s just fatty tissue and she is A-OK. She does need to lose a couple pounds though…

I’ve been wearing these jeans on repeat since the temps cooled down and I can honestly say they are still my favorite. All of the Perfect Vintage style jeans fit me so well and I would highly recommend trying them if you’ve been on the fence!
