Considering purchasing Aloha Collection bags or one of their pouches? Here’s my honest review of the brand after using them for years.
If you have ever seen me pack for a trip, head to the beach or organize my purse, you’ve seen my assorted Aloha Collection bags. The “splash-proof” pouches are a Hawaii staple, in my opinion. Whether you’re spending the day at the beach or the bar, having something that is essentially waterproof is a necessity. But what are these bags? And are they worth the money? I’ve been using them for years and wanted to take the time to share the brand for anyone considering a purchase!
Aloha Collection Bags
So what is ALOHA Collection? It’s a brand built by two best friends to create splash proof (will repel water, but don’t throw it into the ocean with your cell phone inside) bags that were functional. I got to meet the founders and owners when they opened their Waikiki store!
I got my first pouch in 2016 and it was the small size in a pink and palm print. My first impression was how soft the fabric was, because I think sometimes you hear about something being water-resistant and this idea of stiff plastic comes to mind. Whenever people would see it in my purse (I used it to keep myself organized) or as a clutch on its own, I would get asked “where did you get that?” To this day, I still use it and it has held up great.
Of course, once I had that one and realized how well it held up, my collection began to grow. Now, I have every size pouch, two totes, a small duffel and the fanny pack. Hands down my favorite piece is the MAX size pouch. It fits the most (obviously) but there’s an inside zipper pocket for additional organization.
They say, “ALOHA Collection pouches are perfect to stow damp swimsuits, active wear post workout, accident-prone toiletries when traveling, make-up, and are most commonly used as a fun clutch! Our favorite use is for suitcase organization.”
I’ve got to say – I agree. If I’m traveling and want to keep my items separated, I immediately reach for my ALOHA bags. One for hair tools, one for makeup, one for skincare and they even work well for shoes.
I also like to give them as gifts to new moms, because the MAX size pouch can hold diapers, wipes and any diaper rash products they may need. Plus, it doubles as a fun pouch beyond the diaper years.
Where To Buy Aloha Collection Bags
The good news is that buying Aloha Collection bags and pouches is really easy no matter where you live! They do have stores – the one in Waikiki beside Moana Surfrider is gorgeous! – but I know most people wanting one may not have a store nearby. You can shop their site directly, or on Amazon.
As you can probably tell, I really love this brand. I think the quality matches the price point, they last (no ripping, tearing or staining) and they’re super easy to clean (a Lysol wipe). For tougher washes, I flip mine inside out and wash in the sink with Tide powder and hot water, then hang them up to dry. I would recommend these over and over again to anyone looking to treat themselves or a friend.
