Hawaii, Oahu, Travel · April 12, 2023 · Leave a Comment

Everything you need to know about an amazing vacation in Honolulu, Hawaii, including where to stay, eat and explore!

Are you looking for an amazing vacation in Honolulu? Look no further! Honolulu is the perfect destination for a fun and relaxing getaway for both families and couples. From beautiful beaches and stunning scenery to delicious local cuisine, there’s something for everyone in Honolulu. The thought of planning a trip to Hawaii might feel completely overwhelming, and honestly, I get it.

While some might have dreams of hopping across islands, others may want to head to Honolulu and park it for a week, or don’t want to pay the exorbitant costs for a rental car. I get it either way! From where to stay, what to do, where to eat and more, I’ve got all the details covered so that you can make the most of your time in Honolulu. So pack your bags and get ready for your best trip yet!

HONOLULU VACATION

How To Plan The Ultimate Honolulu Vacation

The first time I walked off the plane in Honolulu, I instantly knew I had found paradise. There is something so truly special about Hawaii, and I have a soft spot for Oahu! When planning, you might want a high-end resort, or prefer something more affordable to spend money on activities. Luckily, Honolulu resorts are a good mixture of both.

My personal favorite luxury hotels include Royal Hawaiian, Outrigger Waikiki and Sheraton Waikiki. They’re all on the beach and offer the most beautiful views from your room. Hotels that I love that aren’t on the water, but still have a great vibe include The Surfjack and Laylow, as well as Queen Kapiolani.

Once you have your lodging squared away, it’s time to figure out how you’re going to spend your time in Honolulu.

Experience World-Class Surfing and Beach Activities

For those looking for the perfect beach vacation, look no further than the world-class surfing and beach activities that you can experience right on Waikiki Beach. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced surfer, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy some of the best waves in the world. With stunning beaches and seaside resorts, you can also have a great time just relaxing on the sand or taking part in some water activities like snorkeling, kayaking or paddle boarding.

Explore Hawaiian Culture at Local Attractions + Museums

No trip to Oahu is complete without immersing yourself into the fabric of what makes Hawaii so special – the culture and history of the Hawaiian Islands. From historic sites to modern art galleries, there are plenty of places that offer a unique insight for visitors. I highly recommend Iolani Palance, Bishop Museum and Doris Duke’s Shangri-La. Staying in Honolulu also affords visitors the opportunity to go to Royal Hawaiian Center and check out the free activities like lei making and hula lessons.

Noi Thai Honolulu

Live Music + Delicious Cuisine

One thing I love so much about Hawaii is that it seems like there is always beautiful music to listen to outdoors somewhere and Honolulu is no exception. My favorite place to listen is at the Moana Surfrider on Wednesday nights underneath the banyan tree. Just trust me! As for where to eat, my favorites in Honolulu include: Livestock Tavern, Fête, Opal Thai, Tommy Bahama rooftop, Royal Hawaiian breakfast, Buho Cantina, Liliha Bakery, Noi Thai and Manifest.

The best part about Honolulu is that whether you want a vacation that is go-go-go or simply want to lay in the sunshine, it’s an amazing destination. In my opinion, it’s truly one of the most beautiful destinations on Earth. Yep, I said it 😉 I hope you have the best trip ever!
