The breweries in Honolulu are scattered throughout the city, offering a unique experience for visitors to explore. Many of these breweries are located in trendy neighborhoods, such as Kakaako, Waikiki, and Chinatown, making them the perfect place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.
One of the most popular breweries in Honolulu is Honolulu Beerworks, which is located in Kakaako. They offer a wide selection of beers, including their signature IPA, which is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Their taproom is spacious and offers a rustic and industrial ambiance, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cold beer with friends. It’s a personal favorite of mine, because it’s one of the first locations who brought in my photography to be displayed!
Another must-visit brewery in Honolulu is Waikiki Brewing Company, which is located just a few steps from Waikiki Beach. This brewery offers an impressive selection of craft beers, including their popular Hana Hou Hefe, which is perfect for sipping on a hot summer day. While these aren’t necessary breweries on Oahu, they are definitely worth checking out for the chill vibe and selection.
I also can’t do a proper Oahu breweries post without talking about Brewseum, which sadly closed down in 2020. Set speakeasy style, it was one of the largest personal collections of WWII memorabilia and such a fun place to hangout. I miss it dearly and anyone who has ever gone likely will tell you the same 🙁
