Honolulu is not only known for its stunning beaches and tropical scenery, but also its delicious food. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, exploring the island’s breakfast hotspotsis a must. I love, love, love going out for breakfast and there is no shortage of tasty breakfast spots. No matter what you’re in the mood for, I’ve got you covered with these 10 can’t miss Honolulu breakfast spots, including where to go and what to order.

10 Best Honolulu Breakfast Spots

Admittedly, one of my favorite breakfast spots is at the very top of the list: Koko Head Cafe. But be warned – you need to get there early, so I might suggest climbing Koko Head at dawn, followed by some serious chowing at Koko Head Cafe. Just a suggestion 😉

Koko Head Café

Location: 1145c 12th Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816

Must-Try: Liliko’i Buttermilk Pancakes – Fluffy pancakes infused with the tropical flavor of liliko’i (passion fruit), topped with liliko’i syrup, and served with coconut syrup on the side.

Heavenly Island Lifestyle

Location: 342 Seaside Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815

Must-Try: Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast – Thick slices of locally baked Hawaiian sweet bread dipped in a cinnamon-infused batter and griddled to perfection. Served with coconut syrup and fresh island fruits.

Scratch Kitchen & Meatery

Location: 1170 Auahi St, Honolulu, HI 96814

Must-Try: Cornflake French Toast – Thick-cut brioche bread coated in a crispy cornflake crust, served with maple syrup, whipped butter, and a side of bacon.

Koa Pancake House

Location: Multiple locations, including 1150 Mapunapuna St, Honolulu, HI 96819

Must-Try: Loco Moco – A beloved Hawaiian breakfast staple consisting of a hamburger patty, rice, brown gravy, and a sunny-side-up egg. A truly satisfying and flavorful dish!

Wailana Coffee House

Location: 1860 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96815

Must-Try: Macadamia Nut Pancakes – Fluffy pancakes filled with crunchy macadamia nuts and served with coconut syrup, whipped butter, and your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage.

Cinnamon’s at the ‘Ilikai

Must-Try: Guava Chiffon Pancakes – Light and airy pancakes infused with the tropical essence of guava. Topped with a guava sauce, whipped cream, and powdered sugar.

Lulu’s

Must-Try: Lulu’s Stuffed Toast – Classic French toast…with a Hawaiian twist! Sweet bread stuffed with tasty cream cheese and marmalade. Topped with powdered sugar, whipped cream and honey. 

Café Kaila

Location: 2919 Kapiolani Blvd #218, Honolulu, HI 96826

Must-Try: Portuguese Sausage Scramble – Scrambled eggs mixed with slices of flavorful Portuguese sausage, served with rice or potatoes, and toast or an English muffin.

Goofy Café & Dine

Location: 1831 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96815

Must-Try: Açaí Bowl – A refreshing and nutritious breakfast option featuring a thick blend of açaí berries topped with granola, fresh fruits, coconut flakes, and honey.

Bogart’s Café

Location: 3045 Monsarrat Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815

Must-Try: Lox and Bagel – A classic combination of smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onions, capers, and tomato slices on a fresh, toasted bagel. Perfect for those craving a savory breakfast.
