As a coffee enthusiast, my quest for gadgets that make my morning routine easier or better has been a lifelong task. Two years ago, my mom gifted Dane and I Ember Smart Mugs and I was so excited to start using them. It’s been a full two years now of using Ember for our hot drinks (coffee, tea, hot chocolate and even soup) and today I’m sharing my full and honest review. My Ember Mug Review After Using It For One Year

First of all, if you aren’t quite sure what the heck I’m talking about, the Ember Mug is a technologically advanced smart mug designed to keep your beverages at an ideal temperature. The model we have is Ember Smart Mug 2 14 oz in grey.

The Good: Why I Love My Ember Mug

Easy to Charge: One of the standout features of the Ember Mug is its convenient charging capability. The mug comes with a sleek charging coaster that doubles as a stylish resting place for your mug. Charging is a breeze, and a full charge lasts me through a slowly enjoyed cup of coffee or two quick cups. The mug rests on the coaster when not in use, making charging very straightforward.

Comfortable to Hold: You know how some coffee mugs have a small handle or the placement of the handle makes it uncomfortable to grasp? Not this mug. I can fit my fingers through the handle to grasp the mug without any issue.

Long-Lasting Warmth: One of the primary reasons I fell in love with the Ember Mug is its ability to keep my coffee warm for an extended period. Gone are the days of rushing to finish my cup before it turns lukewarm. With the Ember Mug, I can leisurely enjoy my coffee over the course of an hour or more, all while maintaining the perfect temperature.

Smartphone App Integration: The Ember Mug takes the coffee experience to the next level with its smartphone app. The app allows me to control the temperature of my mug remotely, ensuring that my coffee is ready and waiting for me at the perfect warmth. It’s a fantastic feature for those busy mornings or if my phone rings and I need to take the call while my coffee waits for me.

The Bad: One Pitfall Of The Ember Mug

Hand Washing Only: While the Ember Mug has a multitude of fantastic features, its Achilles’ heel is the requirement for hand washing. For those of us accustomed to the convenience of a dishwasher, this can be a bit of a letdown. However, the extra effort is a small price to pay for the warmth and satisfaction the mug provides. I usually just rinse mine after drinking my last cup of coffee for the day and place it on the charging coaster. Our coasters are right beside our coffee pot and kitchen sink, so it’s really simple. Is The Ember Mug Worth It?

In my opinion, absolutely yes. It has changed the way I drink my coffee in the morning and on days when my charge has run out and I’m drinking out of a normal mug, I do find myself wishing it was the Ember, solely because enjoying coffee kept at the perfect temperature is delicious. It’s almost one of those things you didn’t even know you were missing in your life.

Its innovative features, user-friendly design, and commitment to keeping my coffee warm have made it an indispensable part of my daily routine. While the hand washing requirement may be a minor inconvenience, the overall experience the Ember Mug delivers makes it a must-have for any coffee aficionado. 

I’ve only had one hiccup in the two years of owning my mug and Ember customer service was EXCELLENT! The pins on the charging disc can stick if you place the mug back on the charger without drying it fully (the water molecules will create a film that can causing the sticking) and they sent me a new charging disc without hesitation. I just had to provide a few details about my device. 

I love these mugs so much I recently gifted them to a friend for her wedding and they were one of the most beloved gifts at the shower. 15/10 cannot say enough good things about Ember!
