Considering testing out the Epicutis skincare line? Today I’m sharing my honest Epicutis Lipid Serum review!
Have you hear of the skincare line Epicutis? I was introduced to it by my friends at Aiyana Atelier after a recent chemical peel. They gave me one an Epicutis Recovery Face Mask and it changed my life. I don’t say that lightly, either. The mask itself was easy to put on, stayed on for 25 minutes, and the glow I woke up with the next morning was like nothing I’d ever been able to do at home. What was better – there was plenty of leftover product in the mask sleeve for me to use for about 5-6 more days. Worth $20? AND THEN SOME!
The mask is what convinced me to give the serum a try and I’m so glad I did. If you’ve been on the fence about trying it because of the price (more on that in a minute), today’s post with my honest review is for you.
Is Epicutis Lipid Serum Worth The Money? My Honest Review
What is it? Epicutis Lipid Serum is a skincare product designed to improve skin health by reinforcing the skin barrier and providing deep hydration. It’s formulated with a blend of lipids, which are essential for maintaining the skin’s moisture and overall health. The Lipid Serum is EWG verified (no toxic chemicals), not tested on animals, free of fragrances, GMO-free, and good for all skin types.
Ingredients
There are only 8 ingredients in the serum, including:
Water (the base of the serum and creme and a universal solvent), Propanediol (Functions as an emollient), Pentylene Glycol (A moisturizer), Glycerin (glycerol), Sodium Hyaluronate (Naturally occurring fatty acid polysaccharide found in connective tissues like cartilage and ethically sourced from a fermentation product), TSC (Epicutis’ patented ingredient that has clinically proven anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties), Sodium Phytate (A plant-derived chelating agent), and Citric Acid (A plant-derived pH adjustor).
So What Does Epicutis Lipid Serum Do?
Epicutis Lipid Serum is designed to:
Strengthen the skin barrier, making it more resilient against environmental stressors.
Provide intense, locked-in hydration, reducing dryness and flakiness.
Balance tone and texture of skin
Boost moisture levels to amplify the skin’s natural glow and radiance.
In my experience it has done all of the above, which is impressive given that sometimes I think marketing for skincare products can be gimicky – this passes my test!
Cost: The price of Epicutis Lipid Serum is probably the biggest barrier to entry in my opinion and truly the reason I waited so long to try it out. A 1 oz bottle is $250.
How to Use
Cleanse: Start with a clean face. Use a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup. I use PCA Skin’s oil cleanser and love it.
Apply: Dispense a small amount of the serum onto your fingertips using the dropper.
Spread: Gently pat and smooth the serum onto your face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Moisturize: Follow with your regular moisturizer to lock in the serum’s benefits.
Personal Experience
After using the Epicutis Lipid Serum for a few weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in my skin’s hydration levels. My skin felt more supple and less prone to dryness. The serum absorbed quickly and didn’t leave a greasy residue, which was a big plus. I also appreciated the subtle radiance it gave my skin, making it look healthier overall. One thing to note: the bottled serum is not as concentrated as the serum used in the mask packets, so you won’t get that *immediate* glow, but I feel over time that my skin has stayed moisturized, longer, which is not always the case! In the below photos the only thing I have on is mascara and sunscreen – that skin glow is thanks to skincare!
So, is Epicutis worth the price?
In my opinion, yes. Epicutis Lipid Serum is a high-quality product that delivers on its promises of improved hydration and skin barrier support. While it is on the pricier side, the results justify the investment if you’re looking for a serum that can enhance your skin’s overall health and appearance. I use the serum at night and one bottle has lasted me about 4 months and I’m only half way through it (a tiny bit of product goes a long way here!). If you’d like to support a small business, you can buy it directly from Aiyana Atelier on their products page.
