I Own 4 Pairs of Cushionaire Sandals – Here’s My Honest Review

I’m always on the lookout for shoes that are comfortable enough for everyday wear but still look cute and preferably don’t cost a fortune. That’s what initially drew me to Cushionaire. But after trying one pair, I kept coming back for more. I now own the Cushionaire Splash Jelly Flip Flops in whiskey, the Cushionaire Chai Strappy Sandals in both black and tan, and the Cushionaire Pool Slides in tortoise.

After wearing all of them pretty much on repeat, I can confidently say that Cushionaire has become one of my go-to brands for affordable sandals. The shoes are comfortable, stylish, easy to wear, and, in my experience, have held up well over time.

Cushionaire Chai Strappy Sandals

The Chai Strappy Sandals were the shoes that started it all for me.

I originally bought them because they looked much more expensive than they actually were and a blogger I follow on Instagram was raving about them. The simple straps give them a polished, versatile look, and they work with just about everything in my summer wardrobe. I can wear them with shorts and a T-shirt when I’m running errands or pair them with a dress when I want something a little more put together, but what really sold me was the comfort.

There are plenty of sandals that look great sitting in your closet but aren’t particularly enjoyable to wear. These aren’t those sandals. Once I realized how often I was reaching for my Chai sandals, buying them in another color felt like an easy decision. I now own them in both black and tan, and they’re two of the most versatile pairs in my closet – and that’s how Cushionaire became a brand I started paying attention to.

Cushionaire Splash Jelly Flip Flops

After my Chai sandals convinced me to try more from the brand, I branched out to the Cushionaire Splash Jelly Flip Flops in the color Whiskey.

These are my easy, casual shoes. They’re lightweight and comfortable, and I love having a pair I can quickly slip on for the pool, beach, errands, or anywhere else I don’t want to wear a more substantial shoe. The jelly material also gives them a little more personality than a basic pair of flip flops. They’re functional, but they don’t feel boring, and admittedly I wear them the most of all my pairs.

I did have one issue with this pair: The center piece eventually broke. I think it’s worth mentioning because an honest review should include the good and the bad. But I was also impressed with how Cushionaire handled it. The company replaced the shoes right away, without making the process difficult.

While I obviously would have preferred for the flip flops not to break in the first place, the quick replacement gave me confidence in the company. A product issue is frustrating….a company refusing to stand behind its product is even more frustrating, but that wasn’t my experience with Cushionaire. I had new shoes in 2 business days.

Cushionaire Pool Slides

My third Cushionaire style is the Pool Slides in tortoise (they call it Tortie Smooth), which my mom gifted me this year for Mother’s Day.

If you love the classic look of traditional Birkenstock-style sandals, you’ll understand the appeal of these. They have that same casual, substantial look that works with everything from shorts to jeans, but they come at a much more approachable price. I particularly like the tortoise color because it’s neutral without being boring. It’s an easy way to add a little visual interest to an otherwise simple outfit. The only warning I have with these is that the dark color means they get pretty hot in the sun, which is an issue I don’t have with the jelly flip flops (probably because they’re lighter in color). 

Are Cushionaire Sandals Durable?

Overall, I’ve been impressed with how my Cushionaire shoes have held up. I’ve worn all of these pairs regularly, and the only real issue I’ve experienced was the broken center piece on my Splash Jelly Flip Flops and while that was disappointing, Cushionaire’s response was quick and straightforward.

For me, durability isn’t just about whether a product can survive forever without an issue. It’s also about whether a company stands behind what it sells when something does go wrong. In that regard, my experience with Cushionaire has been a positive one.

Are Cushionaire Sandals Worth It?

My answer is yes and I think the fact that my original pair became my gateway to buying three more styles probably says more than anything else.

What keeps bringing me back is the combination of style, comfort, affordability, and quality. These aren’t shoes I bought because they were inexpensive and expected to replace after one season. They’re shoes I genuinely enjoy wearing at home and on trips.

If you’re looking for sandals that look good, feel good, and won’t require a huge investment, Cushionaire is a brand I’d happily recommend based on my experience.
