TGIF! Man oh man, this week felt so busy, but in a good way. Can anyone else relate? I’m excited to see the weekend, for sure, but I felt like I checked quite a few things off my to-do list, which is always a good thing! I’m so glad to be back in the saddle on my 5 Things I Love Friday series. I started it before our trip to Morocco, fell off the horse last week, but now I’m BACK! Let’s dive in to the good stuff…
5 Things I Love Friday
Hawaii sunsets – I’m going to start with quite possibly my favorite thing on the whole list this week – the sunsets that have been going down here on Oahu. They are ON FIRE! I mean, we get nice sunsets year round, but something about the spring and summer sunsets just rocks. I snapped this panoramic sunset shot while we were grabbing dinner and drinks with old neighbors. They were our very first neighbors when we first moved to Oahu 7 years ago. They’ve since moved and left the island, so it was such a treat to have them back to enjoy a few hours together.
Chambray Joggers – On our trip to Morocco, I got quite a few questions about the chambray joggers I wore on and off throughout our vacation. They are probably the most comfortable pants I own (outside leggings), and I have them in chambray and a pineapple print. They fit true to size and are really good for flying, long car trips and/or touring out and about. I told my friend recently that they’re really great at making you look put together when you feel quite the opposite 😉 I can’t speak for the fit or quality, but these are a more affordable option.
Hawaiian canoe surfing – Last week during a press trip with Olukai, I got to surf in a traditional Hawaiian canoe with some of the amazing new people I met. You guys – my stomach dropped into my ass surfing over that first big wave while glancing behind me and seeing a wall of water. That said, it was THE BEST. I had so much fun and seeing this photo of the moment really makes me smile. Shoutout to Ben for the snap!
Neon Hydro Flask – Have you seen the new neon Hydro Flasks? They are awesome! If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know I’m a Hydro Flask loyalist, because they are THE BEST at keeping drinks cold in the hot Hawaiian sun. I gift them as often as possible and am rarely outside my house without it. This neon one was too good to resist + I love that it’s part of the Hawaiian Shave Ice Collection 🙂
Reef Safe Sunscreen – Summer is around the corner for everyone and that means it’s time to start getting serious about what sort of sunscreen you’re going to use. For anyone who has been around this blog for a little while, you know I’m pretty serious about reef safe sunscreen, so I was flattered to be included in my friend Sarah’s blog post. Not only is reef safe sunscreen important for the environment, it’s important to be aware of the why behind it. Have you watched any of the plastic documentaries on Netflix and what is happening in our oceans? It’s scary! Anyway, just a little food for thought as we approach more pool and beach days…
