…a day in my life. Are you ready?
3:15-3:45AM–Dane and I play this evil game with our alarm clocks hoping that it’s just some sick joke and we have at least 3 more hours to sleep. If I can’t fall back asleep, I check e-mails on my phone from the comfort of my pillow with one eye open. Dane yells that my phone is too bright, I yell that he’s making too much noise. It’s really quite romantic.
3:45-4:15AM–Get up, change clothes, brush teeth, find glasses…and COFFEE! Dane and I get to chat for about 15 minutes before he heads out the door for work while I’m booting up my computer for the day.
**there’s a lot of coffee and LUNA Bars in here**
I love watching the sunrise from my office window! |
4:15-9:15AM–My busiest hours of the day. Most of my clients operate on EST time so if you’re my friend and you’re texting me during these hours–I’m probably not responding. I am most productive when I work completely uninterrupted.
By 9:30AM, I either want to lay down or eat something, but I’m not done work until around noon, so I usually use this as my “lunch break” and walk Judy. Even just stepping away from my desk for 20 minutes is the refresher I need.
10AM–Back at my desk, I’m ready to finish my day strong and use this time to work on administrative tasks for the company. I love being able to finish my work day right at noon so I can get a jump start on my “off” time.
Full disclosure: Judy will always pick resting time over gym time. |
Noon–Judy and I take a rest if I’m exhausted from the day or I head out to the gym. Sometimes if I rest too much after work I can’t sleep that night and it turns into an awful and ugly cycle, so I like to pick the gym more times than not.
1PM: Check our meal plan and figure out what needs thawed for dinner.
And this is where my day goes in 1 of 4905709 different directions.
Pool? Sure.
Making a recipe I pinned? How many ingredients and how much effort does it require?
Beach? Sometimes.
Grocery shopping? Not as much as I should.
Walk Judy? She needs it, but I can’t deal with her chasing a child on a bike right now.
Blogging or blog reading? God, my brain is just fried.
Binging on Netflix? Alright.
Trying out a sweet new makeup tutorial? Don’t mind if I do.
Yes I am in my closet and yes I need Botox. I have no shame, okay? |
Dane typically comes home around 6 and we eat dinner, sometimes watch the sunset, watch a show or 2 (oh boy, only when we’re feeling especially crazy) and go to bed. We are in bed, lights out around 8:30-9 every night–we have to!
So, who wants to come to my house?
