happy Monday!
this weekend was non-stop and I’m not kidding. I think I need a weekend from my weekend–anyone else?
several times this weekend, Dane and I found ourselves in the “How do you like living in Hawaii?” question. somewhere in between missing our families, never seeing seasons and shelling out $5,000 a month just to live–we lose a bit of gratitude for the hand we’ve been dealt. yes, hawaii is gorgeous and yes, we live on a beach. BUT! we’re 5,500 miles away from family, we’re missing birthdays, weddings and holidays and….we miss the ease of living where things are within a fingertip’s reach.
all of that being said, we’re never going to get the opportunity to live here ever again and for the next year+, we are determined to make the most of it. thankfully, we’ve got some amazing trips coming up (including our honeymoon!) to break things up and a couple of visitors on the horizon 🙂
this weekend, we drank hawaii in — the good (paddle boarding), the bad (hello traffic) and the ugly (watching USA draw against portugal..gahh!).
Friday is pizza night at our house. We did our first ever hand rolled gluten free crust (amazing) and topped it with pesto, mozz, prosciutto and shallots! So good! |
Our favorite Saturday morning activity–walking to our favorite coffee shop! |
aside from trying to “hunt the good stuff”, we’ve both got crazy busy work weeks coming up. thankfully we’ve got a pretty kick ass weekend plan that I’m literally counting the days for…
HAPPY WEEK, EVERYONE 🙂 Oh and, exactly 2 months until the wedding–eeek!
