Do people blog at Christmas time?

Life, Lifestyle · December 30, 2014 · 7 Comments

Well, hello, old friend.

I’m here to dust away the cobwebs of this space on the internet to pop in before 2015 (holy crap, when did that happen?!) and say hello, hi, how are you?

Our holiday has been nothing short of fantastic and considering Dane and I are both off for another full week, the likelihood of me traipsing back to this space before 1.5.15 is slim.

But, what have I been up to? For starters, my family was in town and it was nothing short of magical to have them here on this island with us to celebrate. After a couple flight delays on their end, they finally arrived in Honolulu at midnight. I, of course, was there to greet them with a sign and some aloha. Note to all of you: I will always arrive to get you with a sign and a treat.

We spent the next couple days celebrating Dane’s 30th birthday (complete with a successful surprise party AND dinner at Ruth’s Chris!)…

 …and traveling to Maui.

As soon as we got back, we hosted a Christmas Eve party, read: lots of yummy food!

Yes, 3 different types of macaroni and cheese. #eatup

The rest of the time was spent exchanging Christmas presents, beaching it up, shopping, cooking, baking and of course, playing with Judy.

All too soon, it was time to send them back to Pennsylvania, a bitter reminder of how far away we live and how much we miss being stranded stationed on this rock in the middle of the Pacific.

We are eagerly counting down for all the exciting things 2015 holds for the both of us–including a big move 🙂 In the meantime, we’re eating the spoils of our Christmas feast and crafting our resolutions list.

How was your holiday? What exciting things are you looking forward to in 2015?
