I am of the firm belief that you could visit Bali for a lifetime and not eat at every place there. It’s incredible to me how many restaurants, bars and cafes there are, each one cuter than the next. When Dane and I travel, we make sure not to set a limit on food, snacks or drinks. It’s important to us to sample something if we think it looks cool, interesting or especially delicious and this trip was absolutely no different! I think one day we had 6 coffees each, but…who cares! It was all amazing. Today I’m sharing the best places we found to eat on our Bali trip!
I will say that I had a very unfortunate food incident early on, which made me especially wary of some of the more local food items. Bali is pretty diverse in food selection, so you can find just about anything you might want given enough time and research. Our food tastes are pretty diverse, so if it looks interesting…we are probably going to try it! Here are some of our “must eats” from all over Bali:
1. Kynd Community, Seminyak
If I could live in a restaurant in Bali, it would be Kynd Community. The people are kind (go figure) and the food is freaking awesome. I grabbed a chai tea latte, but Dane had the coffee. Both were delish, but the highlight was my Instagram handle in my acai bowl!
2. Mad Pops, Seminyak
3. Dough Darlings, Seminyak
Holy mackerel – this place is amazing and smells even better. We went first thing in the morning as the doughnuts were being made, but in the afternoon there is a little ice cream shop beside it where they put ice cream on hot doughnuts and oh sweet heaven – I bet it’s freaking awesome.
4. Revolver Espresso, Seminyak
5. Grandpa’s Coffee, Ubud
Coffee as big as your head – no further explanation needed 😉
6. Bukit Cafe, Badung
This avo toast ruined me for life – I’ll never not want a pile high of lightly oiled and salted lettuce with an overflowing amount of smashed avocado. I’m drooling a little bit just thinking about it all over again now!
7. Folk, Ubud
8. Le Moulin Crêperie + Cafe, Ubud
If you enjoy sweet or savory crepes, this is the spot for you. I grabbed one every night in Ubud and happily ate it on our car ride home!
9. Taco Casa, Ubud
Somehow I only have this really awkward photo of half my face and the sign – but we ate here two nights in a row! Dane and I weren’t crazy about the chips they used for their nachos, but the DIY tacos you can get a la carte were AMAZING!
10. Acai Queen, Ubud
These acai bowls were freaking amazing and they use crumbled up popcorn as their granola – A MUST!
11. Crumb + Coaster, Kuta Beach
We weren’t crazy about Kuta Beach, but HOLY MOTHER OF SIN – Crumb + Coaster made up for it in every way possible. The food is what dreams are made of, they deliver smoothies that tower out of the cups and the service is FAST.
12. Watercress, Ubud
People, I very rarely dream of salads, but I haven’t stopped thinking of the Watercress Salad (it’s their signature dish) since we left. It’s enormous and filled with so much flavor. Dane also enjoyed the iced tea, which included a huge scoop of lemon sorbet. So good and refreshing!
If you haven’t noticed – we like to eat! Are you planning a trip to Bali? Have you been to any of these awesome restaurants and cafes? I’m still dreaming about all the fresh fruit, smoothies and delicious avo toasts I ate while we were there!
