Why I Love Marco Polo

Life, Lifestyle · June 24, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Happy Monday, everyone! Today’s post is short and sweet — basically, sharing my love for the free app, Marco Polo. Are you using it? Back in January my friend Jenny told me about the app and I had NO CLUE what she was talking about. She kept saying “I’ll talk to you over on Marco Polo” and I was like…what? Then, we were heading out of town and my neighbor said “Well, I can send you messages on Marco Polo”. I thought to myself “Why is everyone obsessed with this Marco Polo app?”

Why I Love Marco Polo

So, I downloaded the free video chat app and I immediately understood what the fuss was about. Since, it has become the best way to talk and keep in touch. Something about having video at your fingertips makes friends and family seem so much closer.

What is the Marco Polo App?

Marco Polo is a free, video messaging app that works just like a voicemail or a group chat, but you can record yourself actually talking. The recipient can listen to it in live time, or if they are busy, it will be there waiting for them. Think of it as text messaging with video. It’s really neat!

How do you use Marco Polo Video App?

Marco Polo App In Use - Two Friends chatting

The above screenshot was taken from one of my personal chats. Where you see the red line is where your friend/relative’s name will be and all the chats you’ve had with that person pop up at the bottom. When you’re ready to record a new chat, just hit start. If your friend/relative is watching “LIVE”, you will get a pop up message that says so. If not, Marco Polo will alert them that you’ve sent a message.

Reversely, when you’re getting a message, Marco Polo will alert you and you can tune in live or watch it later. If you watch it live, you have the opportunity to respond with a handful of emojis like hearts, smiles, etc.

And that’s pretty much it! Truthfully, I just really love this app and when I find something I love it’s my duty to share it, right? So — who else is using Marco Polo?
