Oh to be a dog in snow! Sharing the adorable photos from the first time our chocolate Labs experienced a snow storm in Washington, D.C.
When I was growing up, I thought a snow day was the best thing in the world. As an adult, my opinions have changed a bit. But one thing I was not prepared for was seeing my dogs in snow. Seeing how happy both dogs were ripping around in lots of fluffy snow was one thing: PURE JOY!
The only thing I’m left wondering is what is better than a dog in snow? Enjoy this little photo recap of our first true snowfall here on the east coast 🙂
Our First Snow Day In Washington, DC
Given both Judy and Bill were born in Hawaii and have lived there their whole lives, seeing snow was new for them. They saw a tiny bit when we drove across the country, but it was minimal and certainly not enough to play in. Our first true week in Washington, DC, we got a huge winter storm that shut down pretty much the entire area. It’s safe to say we aren’t in Hawaii anymore!

I was a little bit nervous when we found out so much snow was headed our way, because the dogs have been a little shivery. We woke up to a winter wonderland, so I just opened the door and let them loose to see what they’d do. They were initially kind of hesitant, but realized super fast this was going to be a really fun day!

Washington, DC Snow Storm 2022
If you couldn’t tell by the photos, we had a great day, and tried to stay warm as best we could! I think the dogs will be enjoying what’s left of the snow for quite awhile 🙂
