A Swell Little Spot in Waikiki

Hawaii, Life, Lifestyle, Oahu, Travel · April 3, 2016 · 4 Comments

One of the many perks of my job here in Hawaii is getting invites to some really cool events. One of these was the sneak peek party of the new Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club with Nordstrom Hawaii and OluKai last night in Waikiki.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect – probably some food, music and drinks — ya know, standard party fare. What I got was so much more. As soon as we were greeted by the staff, I could see that The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club was about to make waves amongst boutique hotels in Hawaii. Styled completely in retro fashion — down to brightly colored polyester couches — no detail went unnoticed when it came to design. Surfboards hanging on the ceiling, “Wish You Were Here” written on the bottom of the pool, swanky pool loungers and hand-painted wall murals are just a few of the details I loved.
How fun is this hand-lettered bar menu?!

Free-handed engraving on tin cups! I got my social media handle, along with a beautiful hibiscus!
The ultimate veggie tray! I didn’t get a chance to snap a pic, but there were also goat cheese beignets with beet ketchup — I think I ate 20.
If you’ve never worn a pair of OluKais before, your feet are really missing out. They are SO comfortable and seem to last forever. They have some fun new designs you can check out here.
If you’re a local to Hawaii, or planning a trip to the islands, The Surfjack is a MUST. Not only will you get local flavor in food & beverage, you’ll be in a prime location downtown and get to experience the good life of both old and new Hawaii. The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club officially opens April 11th and reservations can be made here.
