One of my favorite things to do is archive the photos on my phone, because I do this, I find so many treasures that I forgot I even took! Since I did that yesterday, I wanted to share a little bit of a life update via iPhone photos and a glimpse of what we’ve been up to.
First – how the heck are we already done with January?! Bye, bye birthday month – see you in 2018!
The other week we took a little bit of a spin on traditional pizza night by making pizza twists. It involved 3 gluten free pizza crusts, 2 cups of sauce (plus a little extra for dipping), pizza seasoning and some cheese. It was a total hit, but super gluttonous! We won’t be repeating it for a long while…!
Our Sunday tradition has become grabbing the current book we’re reading and heading to the beach for a couple hours dog-free. I don’t hate it one bit!
And speaking of the dogs…they absolutely can’t get enough of lounging on our bed. We’ve tried to break them of this habit so many times, but they keep coming back for more. My mom discovered BitMojis last week and it had me literally laughing out loud.
We’ve been on a major smoothie kick at our house. A list of our favorites can be found here.
Last week, Dane and I headed out for a run, only to get halfway through and stumble upon some very badly injured birds that appear to have been thrown from their nests thanks to the wind we’ve been experiencing lately. We scooped them up, brought them home and gave them a safe haven, food and warmth. Sadly it wasn’t enough for these sweet angels, as they passed away a few days later.
For her going away party, my friend Marissa hosted a few of her friends at her favorite local tea house. Admittedly, I had never gone out for tea before, but it was really fun and I definitely plan on going back to show Dane (he loves tea!). I’m going to miss Marissa’s fun-loving attitude here on Oahu, but I know she is destined to do great things in California!
How fun is this clutch I found at a local boutique?!
I posted this on Facebook awhile back, but we’ve been on a total veggie kick. It’s such an easy dinner winner! Simply chop up every veggie you’ve got, toss in coconut oil, add some salt, pepper, parsley & garlic powder and roast on high! This is my go-to dinner most weeknights and is surprisingly quite filling. Pictured, I have sweet potatoes, green beans, onion, broccoli, shaved Brussels sprouts, peppers, carrots and zucchini. If you’re looking to add a certain flavor, mix it up with spices. My favorites include: lemon pepper, cajun spices, crushed red pepper with oregano & tarragon.
My parents gifted me a Letterfolk board for my birthday after being on the waitlist for months! It’s been fun decorating it each week with a fun new saying. I like to post them over on my Facebook page every Sunday, so be sure to stop by for a little inspiration 🙂
