I love any sort of confession post, is that weird? Whenever I see someone posting confessions, I mentally grab some popcorn and dive head first into it. And it’s been awhile since I did a confessions post around here, so let’s get on with it!
I confess…
…We had no Halloween costume plans as a family. I’m not a huge Halloween person (sorry?), but I do enjoy putting the dogs in something fun or funny. This year Judy went as a fashion blogger and Bill was her “Instagram husband”. When I posted it on Facebook and Instagram, so many of you told me it made you laugh, so that pretty much made my day!
…I have piles and piles of clothing sitting around my house. Some are dirty, some are not and what’s weird is I have absolutely no desire to do anything with them. My normal Type A self would be all about cleaning up these piles, but I’ve already decided I’m doing it this week and so all week I’ve just sort of added to them. ::shrug::
…I am meticulous when it comes to our finances this time of year. Okay honestly, all throughout the year, but mostly this time of year. We file our taxes pretty early in “tax season”, so the holidays plus getting ready for taxes sort of makes my head spin. I find myself checking our bank account and credit cards more closely and reading every single line item. Psychopath, party of 1.
…My running game has been seriously off with all our travels. I tried to run as much as possible when we were on the mainland, but my body isn’t used to running in temps below 70, so I found myself struggling HARD, which honestly just made me not want to do it. I went for my first run “back in the game” on Tuesday and WOOF – it was ugly. I know I feel so much better when I exercise, which is the only reason I went again yesterday.
…After we sold our house, we moved into a rental property that leaves much to be desired in terms of interior design. I’ve learned a lot this year, so a concern that is so material in nature seems petty to me. But admittedly, I am struggling to make it a home with the drab wall colors (we could paint, but that also seems arduous considering we would have to return it to the current beige) and the general feeling of “rental”. I spent a lot of time making our Hawaiian house our own, so I’m left feeling a bit uninspired over here. Send help!
…I need to get better about washing my hair. I realized when I was on the mainland that I take the dirty hair look to an extreme and it needs to end. I’ve committed to washing my hair AT LEAST 3 times per week. Keep me accountable!
…I am a believer in everything happening for a reason. The good times, the bad times and the really freaking horrible times….all of it has a purpose and I think that’s what 2017 taught me. It’s easy to thank God (or any greater power) in the good times, but it’s in the bad times when you’re really struggling that the “powers that be” can shine.
…I have a closet full of pretty clothes and I live my life in athleisure wear.
Alright dish…what are your confessions?
