If anyone here has watched the popular show “Summer House”, you are probably aware of their go-to drink of choice – the BBC. Dane and I started drinking BBCs on our honeymoon in Costa Rica at 10AM every morning (#noregrets) and I’ve loved them ever since. This may actually surprise you since I’m not the biggest banana fan, but trust me when I tell you that there is something so wildly delicious about this cocktail that I’m fairly certain the banana aspect is just a creamy component. IT IS FREAKING DELICIOUS! So, without further ado…The Hawaiian BBC!
Coffee Rum Cocktail
Hawaii is known for a few things and coffee is one of them. There are so many coffee farms here, but Kona coffee is the grand daddy of them all. If you’ve ever been to the Big Island of Hawaii, you know what I mean! Rich, delicious coffee…mm! In any case, I wanted to create a caffeinated cocktail that would be a fun representation of island life and still a delicious beverage to sip poolside or at the beach. Ready to get started?
Coffee Rum Cocktail: The Hawaiian BBC
Straws | Mason Jars | Napkins (tons of adorable options!)
You Will Need:
2 oz. Bailey’s
2 oz. Kona Red cold brew coffee
1 oz. Kōloa coffee rum
splash cream of coconut
1/2 banana
1.5 cups ice
blender
1. Place all ingredients (except ice) into your blender and blend on high until well combined.
2. Slowly add in ice until desired frosty consistency.
3. Pour and enjoy!
A couple things:
1. I am not wild about bananas, so I promise if you’re thinking “this sounded good until that 1/2 a banana…” then you should still give it a try. The banana adds a level of creaminess that is hard to achieve without it and equally delish!
2. If you don’t want a blended style drink, simply take your mixture and pour it over cubes before serving instead of mixing in the ice.
If you test out this recipe, I would love to know what you think!
