Happy Hump Day! One of my very favorite link-ups of the month is “Currently” with Anne, because she always picks words that really force me to dig deep into what’s been going on rather than “oh we went to the beach”, which is pretty par for the course for summer in Hawaii. In any case, I’m super excited to share today what I’ve been following, ordering, pinning, watching, and counting. Random photos taken from my iPhone for your viewing pleasure include beautiful hydrangeas from my parents’ garden, Judy + Bill and their current toy obsession and some delicious apple fritters I whipped up the other night on a whim 🙂

Following – Did anyone else feel captivated by the whole “Plane Bae” saga that went down a few weeks back? If you haven’t heard, a woman and her boyfriend had asked to switch seats with an unsuspecting woman so that they could sit together. Turns out, that woman sat beside a rather dashing former professional soccer player. They got pretty chatty on the flight and it was rumored that sparks were flying based on the tweet-by-tweet account of it which you can read all about in the link above. It turned into an internet sensation and admittedly, I got roped into it, too, because it all seemed a bit fairytale-ish. Turns out – it was a nightmare for the woman involved. In fact, she’s been scared off the internet and I’m heartbroken for her. She has every right to be PISSED. You can read all about her side here. What are your thoughts on this saga?

Ordering – Nothing! In fact, to be really honest, I’m feeling super overwhelmed by the amount of pushing of products I’ve seen around the inter webs lately. I get it – that’s how people make money – and I certainly use affiliate links when I think they’ll be helpful in ordering a specific kitchen tool or jeans I haven’t taken off, but yowza – lately it seems like the buying of things has taken over what really matters in life. All of this to say, you won’t see me posting a receipt from any store that looks like a roll of toilet paper anytime soon.

Pinning – I have been pinning a lot lately, because I often find that Pinterest is my escape for doing work. When I need a mental break, outfit inspiration to re-style something that is already in my closet, dinner ideas and more — I go to Pinterest. Let’s be honest, when I’m procrastinating writing projects, I also turn to Pinterest. If you’re not already, you can follow me here.

Watching – Below Deck Mediterranean – I’m absolutely hooked. It is a total guilty pleasure, because there is a total lack of substance, but I don’t have to think about it. It’s soothing the lack of Handmaid’s Tale + Southern Charm, that’s for sure. Does anyone else watch this shipwreck of a show?

Counting – I thought really long and hard about this one, because I’m not really counting anything. My pennies? Always. Down to the next trip? Yes. But more importantly – counting my blessings. I am guilty of looking around from time to time and playing the comparison game, but I’ve been making a concerted effort to really be thankful for what I have and letting that be enough. It’s working and I’ve never felt happier or more alive.

So, what have you been up to?
