TGIF, Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful week. We’ve been busy around the house preparing for my parents to visit next month and I could not be more excited. We’re moving around furniture (I talked a little bit about that here) and hanging things on the wall that have been in boxes for far too long. It’s thrilling in a way that definitely makes me a 30-year old 😉 Anyway, let’s dive into this week’s edition of 5 Things I Love Friday…it’s filled with everything I’m loving right now!
5 Things I Love Friday
No No Brackets – Rental homes don’t always do much in the way of window fixtures and if I see another horizontal blind I might snap it in two. Seriously — why are those still a thing?! Anyway, No No Brackets are a savior, because they simply snap on top of the horizontal blind fixture and make it easy to hang curtains. I used them in our master bedroom makeover and now I can honestly say I have them in almost every room of our house! They’re a gift to renters!
Gold frame – In the spirit of fixing up this house, I’ve turned to these gold frames more times than I care to admit. I love the simplicity of them and the range of sizes helps for all sorts of different gallery styles. Plus, I’ve been known to gift them a time or two 😉
Brene Brown on Netflix – Okay, have you watched the Netflix special with Brene Brown? If you haven’t, I suggest you hightail it over there to tune in. Dane and I watched it over the weekend and it made us laugh, cry and more importantly — think. I have long loved her books, but this TV special took it to the next level. Is there a Brene fan girl club I can join?
Merrie Monarch + Lei Day – It’s a full blown floral celebration over here in the islands. This week was the kickoff of the Merrie Monarch festival in Hilo, Hawaii and Lei Day, a statewide celebration of the spirit of aloha, is May 1. I’m excited to head to Kapiolani Park in Waikiki to celebrate 🙂
Glow Run – Last night, Dane, the dogs and I participated in a Take Back The Night 5K Glow Walk/Run to support sexual assault awareness. We keep talking about doing a glow run or “glow” type of event, but it never pans out so I’m so glad we were able to take part in this one and support such an important cause. It was a total bonus that the dogs were allowed to come with us:)
How was your week?
