Our Second Experience At Breakout Waikiki Escape Room Honolulu

If you’ve been around for a little while, you might realize that Dane and I never shy away from a good escape room experience. Our first one was in Thailand, our second time was at Breakout Waikiki’s first location, and then we did one with a large group in Scottsdale over a long weekend. When the team at Breakout Waikiki invited us to check out their new location in downtown Honolulu, we jumped at the chance.

Breakout Waikiki recently moved locations in Honolulu, but I can promise you — it’s the same great experience! We got to visit while my parents were in town and it was their first time experiencing an escape room challenge.

First of all, if you’re new, you might be wondering — what’s an escape room? My mom was a little bit anxious and didn’t really know what to expect. She was mostly really concerned about being actually locked in a room! Good news — the door is locked, but you are not locked in and can leave at any time if you start to get scared or claustrophobic.

An escape room is a game-based challenge that gives participants a set amount of time to “break out” of a room and escape. The room we booked was The Armory (there are 4 different ones you can choose from), and when we arrived we found out it was their hardest room, but we gave it our best go. Let me just say — it was the most difficult escape room we’ve ever been I, LOL! So, if you are looking for a true challenge, Breakout Waikiki is for you.

If you were wondering, we didn’t escape, but we had so much fun! If you are planning to visit Waikiki and you need a fun night time activity or rainy day activity, Breakout Waikiki is it!
