Looking for a delicious spot to eat lunch or dinner on Mechanicsburg, PA? Make a stop at Smoke and Pickles Artisan Butcher Shop!
My parents discovered Smoke and Pickles during the pandemic and kept raving about it. They would get it to-go and sit and eat it in the car. Times have shifted, and during our last visit, we finally got to check it out for ourselves. It’s a safe bet that if you are visiting central PA, and want to support local, Smoke and Pickles Artisan Butcher Shop is the way to go!
Chris P. Bacon – Smoke and Pickles
The pig out front is a little ironic given it’s a butcher shop, but his name is Chris P. Bacon, which…OK, I think that is hysterical. In any case, when you first walk in, there is a big selection of fresh, locally sourced meats. They butcher on site and only from local farms.
Dane got fresh sausage and steak to cook at home, and was also able to see which farm they came from, which is nice.

What is more exciting (in my opinion) is the full menu of delicious lunch and dinner options. They have seats outside and inside, too. There were four of us, and we all got something different to try. Everything was excellent and the prices are very reasonable.
We shared the deep fried deviled eggs and also had:
The Pit Master: Dry Aged, Smoked Pit Beef, Topped with our House BBQ Sauce & Crispy Fried Onions
The Smoker: Smoked pulled pork with our House BBQ sauce and topped with slaw.
Screamin’ Eagle: Boneless dark meat fried chicken sandwich, tossed in our Sweet Heat Sauce and topped with our House slaw on our homemade roll.
Smoke & Pickles Fries: Our House Fries, cooked in Beef Tallow, topped with Smoked Pulled Pork, (or) Smoked Pulled Chicken, Pickled Red Onion and Jalapeno, and our House BBQ Sauce

Overall, I highly recommend this spot for eating in or carrying out. Quite a few people were in and out while we were there, so the secret is definitely out about this delicious spot in Mechancisburg.
