I absolutely love sitting outside in our backyard, but there’s one thing that drives me nuts…the amount of mosquitoes we have. I’m not sure how or why they are so bad in our area, but every spring/summer, they arrive in full force and start to eat me alive. This summer, I knew I wanted to do something about it so I could actually use my patio furniture and enjoy the nice weather. The problem is that most lawn care products are full of awful chemicals that leave me wondering the longterm effects of them on both us and the dogs. Using pesticides at home isn’t something I’m comfortable with and I knew there had to be a better option. Enter: Sunday lawn care products. 

My Honest Review Of Mosquito Deleto

Today I’m sharing my experience using Sunday’s Mosquito Deleto, touted to “kill and repel mosquitoes for up to four weeks + made without synthetic pesticides.”

What Is Mosquito Deleto?

Straight from Sunday: “Our plant-based mosquito yard spray formula uses concentrated lemongrass and cedar oils. This power pairing not only kills mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks on contact, but also repels newcomers—so you can have up to 4 weeks of buzz-free bliss. Safe for people, pets, and planet when used as directed.” It’s market price is $27, but the brand is always running sales, and I got it for around $20 for one jug. One jug was two full yard sprays and to be honest, it could have been three for my yard, but I really doused everything. #killallthemosquitoes

One of my top concerns when using any lawn care product is safety. Not just for me, but I have two dogs, so I was thrilled to learn that Mosquito Deleto is formulated with natural ingredients that are safe for pets, people, and pollinators. This means I can use it without worrying about harming my furry friends or disrupting the vital work of pollinators in my yard and neighborhood. 

Unbelievably Easy to Use

Mosquito Deleto is incredibly easy to use. After getting it out of the box, I realized pretty quickly that all I have to do is attach the bottle to my backyard hose, turn on the water, and spray. There’s no need for complicated equipment or additional steps, and there is a stop nozzle on the bottle too, to easily turn off the spray, too. This straightforward application process not only makes it easy while using, but makes me want to keep using it knowing it’s not a pain in the butt every time I want to re-apply. 

So Does Mosquito Deleto Actually Work?

Yes, yes it does. And if you’re feeling skeptical about a natural product being this effective, you’re not alone. I was, too! I think they key is consistency and also diligently removing anything that could attract mosquitoes to your yard.

I noticed when I was outside prior to spraying, I would kill an average of 7-8 mosquitos on myself while watering plants. I use that time as my gauge, because it’s the time of day when the mosquitoes are the worst. After spraying once, I killed only 2 on my leg. I will be totally transparent and say that not every mosquito was gone, but to see such a noticeable difference using a product I felt comfortable with is a total win!
