I have approximately zero memories of flying a kite as a kid. When I told this to Dane, he was pretty much flabbergasted. Sorry buddy, I was way more into baking things in my Easy Bake Oven. Just kidding, I didn’t have one of those, either…BUT I ALWAYS WANTED ONE!
I did, however, have a very cool machine that I could make gummy spiders in, which is ironic considering my pure fear of that bug.
In any case, I’m getting off topic here. When Dane learned I had never flown a kite and we happened to stumble across one on the beach (not a rarity in Hawaii), he was stoked to show me his kite flying skills. It seems SO EASY, but I assure you, this kite flying business takes work. I was more content to sit in my chair and read, but Judy and Dane had so much fun!
