Whew! Another weekend that absolutely flew by. I don’t know how it happened, but we actually accomplished everything on our “weekend to-do” list…and then some!
Friday night was really low key for us – some homemade margaritas with our neighbors and watching more West World. Is anyone else hooked on that show? The premise seemed weird to me initially, but I have to admit – we are hooked now!
Saturday we woke up bright and early – ready to hike a trail we’ve had our sights set on for awhile now. The pink pillbox hike on the west side did not disappoint! I’ll have a full post with lots of photos coming soon, I promise. That Pepto Bismal-y box deserves a post all its own 😉
The focus on this photo is wonky, but I really like how the pink pops and you can see the fishing boat heading out in the distance 🙂
After our hike, we grabbed some coffee, made a quick Target run and headed home. Our next order of business was booking hotels for our upcoming summer vacation. We had been putting it off, but once we sat down to decide where we wanted to stay. Boom – done. Saturday night we went to bed early, because we had a sunrise hike with the dogs planned for Sunday. We overslept our alarms thanks to some neighbors who just couldn’t seem to stop playing basketball and screaming in the street…until 2AM. Even though we got a later-than-we-wanted start, the hike was beautiful and the sky was overcast so…not too hot! After, we let Bill & Judy romp around on the nearby beach off leash until they were so tired they could barely make it back to the car. #dogparentingwin
This is the only photo I took of that, so maybe it wasn’t really a win? The rest of our Sunday was spent relaxing outside and getting a little Vitamin D, cleaning up the house and prepping for Monday.
Lately, I’ve come across so many good reads are the internet, that I also wanted to share those with you before signing off for the day…
Chelsea over at Making Home Base is always sharing the coolest home decor and DIY project ideas, so last week when she shared this DIY Wall Art, my heart did a little pitter patter. It’s adorable and definitely getting added to my “must do” list.
Erica at Whimsical September began a series this year called “The Saturday Sit Down” and I just love it! I sometimes have a hard time finding new blogs to follow or read, so I always look forward to seeing who she is featuring each Saturday!
Krystal over at Sunny Sweet Days sharing an amazingly timed post, Girl Scout Cookie Wine Pairings – a full rundown of what wine to drink with which cookie. Looks like I’m all set for dinner this week 😉
The following isn’t a good read, per se, but ever since Kelsey at Pardon My French got bangs, I have been like..I KNOW SHE LOOKS LIKE A FAMOUS PERSON. Well, over the weekend, I finally figured out who. Lauren Conrad. See for yourself.
Gorgeous all around, am I right?
On that note – I’m heading out. But tell me – how was your weekend? What have you read around the internet lately that you’ve loved? Do share!
