What’s a new year without a new list of the best psychological thrillers to read? If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know that the books I read are almost all of the psychological thriller, suspense or crime genre — the more twisted, the better! Heck sometimes I even blog about personal finance books, but for the most part — give me all the edge-of-my-seat-keep-me-up-at-night thrillers! If those are the types of books you love to read, too, you won’t want to miss my first book list of the year — 6 New Psychological Thrillers For 2022!

The Reunion – Hotel Lilith holds terrible memories for Cait Du Bois. The darkest night of her life happened within its walls. Once, she vowed never to return to the place that reminds her of the horror she experienced. But when the hotel is chosen as the location for her high school reunion, Cait finds herself unable to resist the appeal of showing off her new life to the people who once made her existence miserable.
Missing Daughter – When I wake up with the sun in my eyes the morning after my daughter’s birthday party, I know something is very wrong. I go straight to her room but feel a surge of panic when I see an empty bed. Who took our little girl? My husband says I’ve been struggling since Skylar was born and that sometimes I forget things. But I remember every moment of my daughter’s party—including him locking the door after our family and friends left. Yes, we both had a drink and I slept heavily but I know I would have heard my child cry. A good mother always does. But as the hours race by I soon realize I was totally wrong about everything that happened that night. I thought I’d put my past behind me long ago but I was wrong. All I know is this: I’ll do whatever it takes to save my child.
The Girl You Killed – Andrea Brafford’s life is nearly perfect. A passionate marine biologist, happily married to Craig, the man she loves, recently moved into a home commensurate with their success to enjoy a life many others only dream about, in one of Houston’s most desirable suburbs. But only a few months later, a trial that dramatically polarizes their town names Craig Brafford as a defendant in the murder of his young wife, shattering the serenity of the peaceful community.
Her Perfect Secret – It’s him. Tom. I helped put his mom in prison for life. She killed his father. I recognize the sharp nose and flare to the nostrils. His thick eyebrows and defined cheekbones. But mostly it’s the eyes. Sea green. But my daughter, Joni, keeps calling him Michael. And they’re here at the lake house telling us they’re getting married. It must be him. But what do I say? Suddenly I’m thrust back fifteen years, looking through photos of a violent and bloody murder scene. I can’t be 100% sure. We haven’t been the perfect family. But we got through it together. I will do anything to protect us, to protect the life we’ve fought for.
The New Friends – Becky and Jamie are an ordinary hard-working couple trapped in the daily grind, dreaming of an easier life. On one of their rare vacations, they meet a wealthy couple, Phil and Mel, who seem to have it all – they are fun, well travelled, and very generous with their money. But they are also very, very dangerous. Because Phil and Mel are not who they say they are. And this is no random vacation friendship, they have chosen Jamie and Becky carefully, seducing them with the promise of a lifestyle just like theirs. By the time Jamie and Becky realise what their new friends really want, it’s too late, they’ve lost everything, their hopes and dreams lie shattered.
