It seems to me that we were just celebrating the Fourth of July and now all of a sudden here we are and it’s the 27th — how does that happen?
So much has been going on around here that I figured one of my very favorite types of posts was in order — bullet style!
PING PING PING, here we go…
-Dane’s family came into town a couple weeks ago and we got in some quality beach time, as well as showing them around to our favorite restaurants and coffee shops.
-Dane had his Change of Command ceremony last week and to say that I’m proud of him would be the largest understatement EVER. For all of my non-Army-speak friends, this means that he relinquished responsibility of a company of soldiers after spending 18 months being in charge. It was a huge leadership role and he took it by storm. I could spend all day blabbering about him, but I’ll save you all from that 😉 Dane if you’re reading — you are the best thing and the Army is damn lucky to have you.
-We checked out an amazing new hotspot in downtown Honolulu called Livestock Tavern — a hipster hamburger joint that served up the most amazing beet salad to date. If you’re following me on Instagram, you know my obsession with beet salad IS REAL.
-Judy got this shirt in the mail earlier this month and she LOVES it. No really, she does. She likes us to put it on her at night so she can snuggle with it while she sleeps. She’s not a dog, I’m convinced!
-We finally decided on a photo to turn into a canvas for our wall! I was nervous that it wouldn’t turn out, the cropping would get messed–basically, 100 different reasons why I could never pull the trigger on ordering one. Well, I finally did and I’M OBSESSED!
-And speaking of wall decor, I’ve never really been a huge fan of wallpaper, but I’ve been pinning images like the one below non-stop! I love the sassy punch it gives and I’m determined to make it happen in our forever home (wherever that may be!) one day.

But enough about me! What have you been up to lately? How was your weekend?
On a side note, For any of my readers who are heading back to school this fall, are you interested in saving money? I remember my college days and any way I could pinch my pennies, I did! I had to have money for beer college sweatshirts! If you are like me, be sure to check out CampusBookRentals.com for all of your textbook renting needs. That’s right, why buy the whole dang thing when you could save upwards of 60% off this semester?! Free shipping both ways, flexible renting periods AND the opportunity to give back when you rent (they donate to Operation Smile with every rental!) Seems like a no-brainer to me 🙂
