Currently

Happy Hump Day and May 1! I’m so excited to be linking up with  Anne for her monthly Currently series! If you have absolutely no clue what I’m talking about, pop over to her site and take a peek around — you WILL NOT be disappointed I love, love, love this series and today I’m joining her and some of the fabulous faces who frequent her internet space for this month’s Currently, which covers what I’m currently admiring, playing, borrowing, remembering, and finishing. Are you ready?

Currently

ADMIRING 

If you’ve been here for any amount of time, you might realize or know that Dane and I aren’t DIY kind of people. Some people excel in that arena, but we are not those people. In any case, we had been gifted a beautiful calligraphy piece in Morocco that I wanted to have framed, but the quotes I was getting to have it done were sky high. Just not conceivably in my budget…or anywhere close! So, I made a frame using thick black display board and cut down a piece of molding I bought at Home Depot. All in all, the project cost me $17 and about 30 minutes! It doesn’t have glass in it, but I’m okay with that. 

PLAYING 

I discovered a new channel on Spotify that I’m really digging. It’s called “Sunny Day” and it’s filled with easy listening tracks that are really great for my work day. If you’re in to that kind of thing (think Train, Jack Johnson and John Mayer), check it out!

BORROWING  

I have seen countless gallery walls on Pinterest and Instagram that make me swoon every single time. I love abstract and grid style, so I’ve incorporated both into our house. By “borrowing” this design idea I’ve made our space more like home and with details that make us smile 🙂

REMEMBERING

Someone on my Facebook timeline post earlier this week “do you remember when you had to call a number to listen to what time certain movies were showing at the theater?” You guys, I had completely forgotten that doing that was even a thing! As soon as I read it, I found myself nodding my head to myself. I absolutely remember that! Kind of crazy to see how things have progressed even in just my lifetime. I also remember when my mom’s car phone was in a bag in the center console of her car. I thought it was the COOLEST thing when she upgraded it to be mounted near her dashboard. I think car phones still had a cord at that point! 

FINISHING  

Decorating our house! My parents will be here in a little over a week for the month and I am so freaking excited! We’ve been putting all the last minute touches on our space and to be honest — it makes me wonder why we’ve waited this long. I mean, I know why, but you know what I’m trying to say! In any case, I finally conquered decorating two huge, long walls, which was a feat and I’m happy with how they turned out.
